Smart actuators identification

A smart actuator for a turbocharger is an advanced electromechanical device that precisely controls the turbocharger’s variable geometry. It uses an integrated electronic system to provide real-time feedback and optimise performance across different engine conditions. By dynamically adjusting turbocharger characteristics, these actuators improve engine efficiency, power, and emissions control in modern diesel and petrol engines.

Melett REA

The Melett REA can be identified with the Melett logo on the outer case. Our REA’s have been developed in-line with Melett’s quality principles, they come ready to be calibrated with the software designed to communicate with the vehicle’s ECU. This communication is critical as faults in the software can lead to further damage to the vehicle, resulting in a more costly repair. The Melett REA tool is required to calibrate this actuator.

HELLA REA

The HELLA REA’s can be identified with the HELLA logo contained within the photo and on the outer case. Hella Actuators come ready to be calibrated with industry standard equipment. This communication is critical as faults in the software can lead to further damage to the vehicle, resulting in a more costly repair.

Other smart actuator designs

For other smart actuator designs that do not contain any logos. These smart actuators need to be calibrated with industry-standard equipment.
